Audio MIDI Setup
From Benchmark
Introduction
'Audio MIDI Setup' is a audio utility interface within Macintosh's native operating system, OSX. It is used to configure the audio input and output from the computer, and also the MIDI interfacing.
For audio, this utility is used to select which device (hardware) will be used to input or output audio from the computer. It is also used to select the format of the audio (that is, sample-rate and word-length). It also has volume controls for each device and signal path (that is, input and output). It is recommended, however, to keep these volume controls at 100%. Read more about the effects of digital volume controls.
The 'Audio MIDI Setup' utility can be found by going to the 'Applications' window in a 'Finder' window. In the 'Applications' folder, there is a folder named 'Utilities'. 'Audio MDID Seutp' can be found in the 'Utilities' folder. It is recommended to drag the icon to your 'Launch pad' where your commonly used applications are docked on your desktop.
