The Benchmark DAC1, a 2-channel, 24-bit/192-kHz D-to-A converter, is the company's most popular product. Several recording and mastering engineers use the DAC1 to monitor the digital audio playback. The popularity of the DAC1 is, in part, due to its ability to perform to listed specifications regardless of the presence of any amount of jitter. Other features that have users have praised are the HPA2<tm> headphone amplifier and the front-panel volume control. Since its introduction to the market, the DAC1 has received several extremely positive reviews and awards.
A few years after the DAC1 began production, Benchmark announced the development of a complimentary, 2-channel, 24-bit/192-kHz A-to-D converter, named the ADC1. On January 8th, 2007, Benchmark released a new 4-channel microphone pre-amplifier, the PRE420. The PRE420 also features a stereo mixing bus with MirrorPan<tm> pan controls for each channel, and a solo section to solo any combination of channels in mono or stereo.
